2. Anker 737 Power Bank
For those with no qualms spending money on quality, the Anker 737 is a do-it-all, reliable beast with a huge 24,000-mAh capacity. The power bank, with support for power delivery 3.1, is capable of transferring or receiving a maximum of 140 watts to fuel phones, tablets, and even laptops. You fill it to its capacity in an hour. It is quite small for its capacity but weighs almost 1.4 pounds. Tap the round power button on the side one time and the spiffy digital display shows the remaining life of the battery; tap it a second time and you have the temperature, total output, cycles, and more. The screen also displays watts in or out if you insert something and an estimated remaining time based on the current rate. It fast-charged everything that I tested it with, and you can charge three items without a problem.
Specifications
Ports: USB-C x 2, USB-A x 1
Capacity: 24,000 mAh
Charges: Charge most smartphones at least four times
Wattage: 140 watts Warranty: 2 years
3. Anker Nano Power Bank
If you require a compact charger that is available in vibrant colors and plugs into the bottom of your phone to provide it with a boost, it's difficult to beat the compact charger by Anker. The power bank also comes with a built-in spinning USB-C or Lightning plug (it's MFi certified), so you won't have to wrestle with cables. It stores 5,000 mAh of juice (more than enough to fully recharge most phones). I tested the USB-C version with a few Android phones and found it fit securely into place, enabling me to use my phone more or less as normal. A USB-C charging port and short cable come with it. If you have a thick case, it won't be the best option.
Specifications
Ports: 1 USB-C or Lightning port, 1 charging USB-C port
Capacity: 5,000 mAh
Charges: Most smartphones once
Wattage: 22.5 watts Warranty: 2 years
4. Ugreen 145W Power Bank
Ugreen's charger is, as the name implies, a 145-watt charger with a 25,000-mAh battery. Surprisingly compact for the juice it dispenses, though it's hardly ultralight at 1.1 lbs. Two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The Ugreen is unique in that you can actually pull 145 watts of power out of it to charge. That means one USB-C port at 100 W and the other at 45 W. Few other batteries we've reviewed do that, and none that I am aware of to this size. If you need to fuel up fast, this is the power bank for you (though it's worth noting that reviews around the web say that it isn't Samsung fast-charging compliant). A small LED screen on the side of the battery shows the current level of the battery. I'd have preferred to see charging information on that screen as well, but it's a small complaint with what's an otherwise great choice if you need to have your laptop charged wherever you happen to be. Specifications
Ports: USB-C x 2, USB-A x 1 Capacity: 25,000 mAh Charges: Charge tablets two to three times. Wattage: 145 watts Warranty: 2 years
5. GoalZero Sherpa 100
Goal Zero revamped its Sherpa portable chargers with better wireless charging: 15 watts, versus 5 watts on the previous model. I tested the Sherpa AC, which offers two USB-Cs (60-watt and 100-watt), two USB-As, and a 100-watt AC port for those that need a plug with a prong. It strikes a nice balance between capacity for storing power (93 watt-hours in my drain test) and weight (2 pounds). It charges my Dell XPS 13 almost two times. You have a nice color LCD screen that shows you how much power you have left, how much power you're taking in and putting out, and an estimate of how long the battery will last if things continue as they are. Recharge times vary depending on if you have the Sherpa wall charger available as an extra purchase, but I was able to recharge it in under three hours no matter the input power. You also have an 8-mm jack in the back to plug a solar panel into it if you have one. The Sherpa isn't cheap, but if you don't need the AC out and you can do with a single USB-C (100-watt out, 60-watt in), the Sherpa PD is the same device for $175. Specifications
Ports: USB-C x 2, USB-A x 2, AC x 1, Qi wireless charging pad Capacity: 25,600 mAh Charges: One to two times most laptops Wattage: 100 watts Warranty: 2 years
6. Anker MagGo Power Bank for Apple Watch My Apple Watch usually lasts until bedtime, but on crazy days and overnight adventures, it’s nice to have a power bank to give it a boost. This Anker power bank comes with a handy pop-up Apple Watch charger that will give your watch 5 watts and enable Nightstand mode. It also comes with a built-in USB-C cable and a USB-C port, so you can give your phone or another small device a maximum of 30 watts. A screen comes on below the surface to show you the power level as a percentage and the charging speed. It’s nice and small, with a high 10,000 mAh capacity, and comes in black, white, green, or pink. Anker also comes with stickers to keep your Apple Watch in place, but that was not a problem for me. Specifications
Ports: 1 x USB-C, Apple Watch wireless charging, USB-C cable Capacity: 10,000 mAh Charges: Apple Watch eight or nine times. Wattage: 30 watts Warranty: 2 years
7. Sharge Shargeek 170 Power Bank
I like Sharge's minimalist aesthetic and cyberpunk look, but this prism-shaped power bank is more than a looker. With a 170-watt maximum output, a huge 24,000-mAh capacity, and an IP66 rating for water resistance (fine in the rain, but best not to dunk it), the Sharge 170 has shape and substance. The smart display shows the life of the battery as a percentage, remaining time, and input or output in watts. Supported by a wide range of standards, including power delivery 3.1, Quick Charge 4.0, and PPS, it fast-charged most of the devices that came my way, including the iPhone 15 Pro, Pixel 8, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and MacBook Air. You can fast-charge three devices in fast mode simultaneously, and the package comes with a braided USB-C cable and a small velvety pouch. You also recharge it to full in an hour via USB-C to a maximum of 140 watts (with the right cable and charger). The only downside is the relatively high cost. I also reviewed and loved an older model by this brand, the Shargeek Storm 2 ($150), which gives a larger capacity but a 100-W maximum. Specifications
Ports: USB-C x 2, USB-A x 1 Capacity: 24,000 mAh Charges: To charge most phones five times or a laptop once Wattage: 170 watts Warranty: 1 year
8. Belkin Boost Charge Power Bank 10K
Now and then, you simply need a low-cost portable charger, and this slender model by Belkin will suffice. It is relatively thin for the 10,000 mAh capacity, with curved edges, and four LEDs to show remaining capacity. Two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, along with a brief USB-A to USB-C cable, round out the package. It only gives a maximum of 15 watts total, so it's not the most rapid power bank out there, but that is factored into the cost, and it will ultimately charge your devices. Specifications
Ports: 1 x USB-C, 2 x USB Capacity: 10,000 mAh Charges: Charge your smartphone two or three times. Wattage: 15 watts Warranty: 2 years
9. Gomi Power Bank
While I love the swirling designs, metallic bottom, and compact size, it is Gomi’s philosophy that ultimately sells these power banks. Handcrafted by a small independent firm in Brighton, UK, out of recycled plastic, with power supplied by repurposed ebike batteries, Gomi guarantees a minimum of 50 percent fewer CO2 emissions than comparable power banks. You have a two-year warranty with this power bank that also offers free repairs. Gomi also made it easy to fix, so even if it is past its warranty, you have it fixed for a maximum of £20 ($25), plus postage. If it gets damaged beyond repair somehow, Gomi will have it recycled. You also have a braided USB-C to USB-C cable included in the package.
Specifications
Ports: 1 x USB-C, 1 x USB
Capacity: 10,000 mAh
Charges: Charge your phone two or three times
Wattage: 36 watts Warranty: 2 years
10. Folding wireless charging
Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand
With its distinctive design that features a fold-up phone wireless charging pad and a charging space behind it for your wireless earbuds case if it is a Qi wireless charging-capable one, the Satechi Duo is a handy power bank to have in your bag. It has a capacity of 10,000-mAh and with an indicator of remaining juice through the LEDs. The downside is that it is a slow one, with a wireless charging capacity of a maximum of 10 watts for phones (7.5 watts for iPhone), 5 watts for earbuds, and 10 watts through the USB-C port. Recharging the battery requires three hours with an 18-watt charger.
Specifications
Ports: 1 x USB-C, 2 x Qi wireless charging pad
Capacity: 10,000 mAh
Charges: One to two phone calls
Wattage: 33 watts
Warranty: 1 year
